Mission and Vision

Power & Economy

Education & Justice

Technology & Entrepreneurship

Every administration comes with a lot of loaded promises, I, in all humility understands that it is almost impossible to get our state to work like successfully ran cities and states abroad and beyond. The resources available from the center continues to dwindle requiring anyone who will be taking over to only succeed through ideas, innovations, technology, carefully implemented for the benefit of everyone. Our state is one of the lowest when it comes to federal government allocations, every policy that will work for us must be private sector driven as government can no longer create and sustain industries. The core focus of my administration will be to introduce enabling laws and policies to fastrack our growth.

Make an Impact

We're here to make great changes to
how we run our state.

Revenue

Cross River suffered a -28.38% decline in its IGR from N22.60bn in 2019 to N16.18bn in 2020, largely due to shocks induced by the COVID-19 pandemic. PAYE accounted for N7.18bn or 44.3% of its total N16.18bn IGR in 2020. We want our revenue systems to be mobile first approach, giving us information on the go and helping us ramp up our revenue, ensuring that we can only improve it yearly just like we have in states like Lagos. We also want to work with local companies and businesses to help give them a tax free period, this will have ample effect on PAYEE tax as more people can be employed

Power Sector

The power sector reform bill passed by the National Assembly is a call to action on states and in my administration, Cross River will answer that call. We'll exploit ways to partner some foreign companies who can help us build up power generation for local consumption. We believe that creating a team is key to how we do this, the government, local power companies and then foreign companies to come together to build up local power infrastructure

Transportation

My administration will revive all our moribund parks and state-owned shuttle services, enable equity partnerships and deploying technology to manage fleet, improve awareness and driver training to first ensure safety in commuting. The initiative for Cali Air is noble by the present governor, my thinking is that our ground and local Transportation needs priority. With a reliable partner in the private sector, we can revive Cross Lines and create real jobs for the masses.

Technology

Technology is the core of everyday living, as a state, we need to fully embrace the digital economy and encourage all our communication processes to go digital. We also need to treat technology as a business avenue for revenue growth. There are enormous opportunities in technology. I am aware that our state was one of the very first state to invest in a fibre optic ring cable across calabar municipality and calabar south, these various infrastructure have to be brought up and revived to help create a true digital economy and experience for our people. Every sector of our economy now needs technology to improve, sectors like Agriculture, transportation, tourism, fiscal planning and revenue management and many others can all thrive with adoption of high level technology.

Environment

Cross River has to be restored to its glory days of attracting people all over the world, everyone who lives in the major LGA's and even down to the rural centers must come together to keep Cross River clean. My administration will seek help from the private sector to automate waste management systems; from pickup to dumpsite and recycling of waste, we have to look at a waste to wealth strategy as defined by the United Nations. I will need all your support to make this reality as new ways will have to be adopted in the management of waste and our environment.

Health

The target in healthcare is simple, our primary healthcare centers must have requisite infrastructure and communications tool to provide basic care at the rural areas. we must build on the good work done by the current ministry of health. Together with the private sector we can launch an ambitious efforts to make our state a destination for Medical Tourism. Salaries of Healthcare workers have to be reviewed in my administration, we have to create a health system that we can all be proud of using and accessing.

Education

Education is still a major problem in Cross River state, Approximately 1 in 4 Cross River children aged 5-16 are illiterate and 1 in 5 innumerate. The continuous teachers training instituted by the current administration is a laudable achievement and my administration will support that initiative. My administration will focus more on strategies that will improve the quality of education earned through our public schools, our education systems and curriculum all have to be shaped by emerging technologies, modern approaches to the transfer of knowledge have to be adopted and basic computer and technology subjects encouraged at the fundamental level of every child. we have to give our children an opportunity to compete with kids globally and come out top.

Infrastructure

I have always believed that our infrastructure requirement is still a far cry from what is required. I have an ambitious plan to develop Calabar Municipal and Calabar south further, build more rural roads inwards into the other LGAs and encourage penetration for resources and human development. I believe our markets needs to be reviewed and rebuilt to help government generate more revenue and give the people proper public markets to carry out their trade. Our schools and colleges would not also be left as as we will review even public libraries and get them all fixed within my first year in office. Our ambitious market infrastructure plan begins immediately I am sworn in as governor. Members of my core team are already carrying out feasibility studies on every state infrastructure and we plan to be swift in our solutions.

Agriculture

Cross River should be producing 10-15% of food that feeds Nigeria, this has always been my reasoning and that of so many of us who have invested in Agriculture, I own a farm and I know the issues I have had growing crops for export and local consumption. We have to guarantee Food security for the survival of individuals, families, and ultimately nations. We may have to take Agriculture a step further than planting, harvesting and exporting. My administration is ready to partner companies who can process our food locally, that way, we benefit more on the long run.
